Based near Oxford in the UK, Neftex is a leading geoscience consultancy company developing the first 4D Earth Model of the subsurface of the entire globe. We carry out a unique synthesis of regional geology, sequence stratigraphy and geodynamics supported by innovative information management and workflows. Who we are
Neftex is the world's foremost sequence stratigraphic-led consultancy. Using sedimentological, biostratigraphic and structural geology skills combined with the latest technology we develop 3D and 4D regional geological models for our clients and work with them to place our model into their exploration activities. The company was founded in 2001 and has rapidly grown to employ more than 80 staff, more than 60 of whom are geoscientists and with strong support from our information management team.
What we do
We advise the global resource industries on either a single-client consultancy basis or through multi-client subscription studies (our Earth Model product suite). We’ve developed a global eustatic model based on detailed analysis and interpretation of the stratigraphic record. The implications of this tool are profound for petroleum exploration such as the identification of new opportunities and analogues, and risk and cost reduction. As well as our regional sequence stratigraphic work, we also have developed a state of the art geodynamic model and workflows that use to the latest technology to rapidly assess the exploration potential of a region. We work closely with our clients to integrate their proprietary data into regional exploration models.
You and Neftex
As a dynamic company, we expect you to work on major projects from day one. For geologists typical work will involve working in a small team developing stratigraphic and exploration models for one of our project regions around the world. You’ll be supported by our more experienced staff and by our training programme. You’ll be expected to interact with clients, both in our UK office and in client offices around the world. Alternatively you might be involved in more specialist work reviewing, for example, geochemical, biostratigraphic, reservoir or seismic data. For our information management staff you’ll be involved in utilising the latest technological innovations to ensure effective delivery of our work to clients and efficient workflow procedures. You may also be required to help clients in a similar manner.

Training
We have a dedicated training programme for all new recruits followed by specific training dependant on your job role and career aspirations. Courses are carried out both in-house and externally and can include field courses in the UK and internationally. We also encourage staff to attend and present at international conferences. Not least of all you will be supported by your team and our pool of highly experienced staff.
